 
'My mum and dad split when I was about five years old' Says Lee. 'I come from a one parent family and my mother has workered so hard for me just to get me where I am today. She really has been an inspiration to my life' Lee regrets that he was very badly behaved and must have put his mum thought hell : 'I think i was a nightmare for mum mum when I was growing up. I was quite a handful'
At first many people thought his bad behaviour was a result of his parents break-up but it turned out there was a much more serious cause. 'I'm dyslexic and so i found some subjects frustrating, I used to get bored and mess about,' explains lee. 'I got chucked out of a few schools, so it was to make friends, I didnt feel i really fitted in anywhere'
His mum stood by him and she helped lee to take his first step towards fame and fortune. 'My mum always encouraged me with my singing and she always spurred me on i went to drama school when i was 13 and i really enjoyed it - obviously im really happy with the way things have turned out!'
Lee has managed to keep a close relationship with his dad. 'I see a lot of my dad - he came to watch me play footie at soccer six, my mum n dad didnt work out but this dont mean the kid shouldnt see him' Lee said However his mum remains the central figure in his life. 'Now its my turn to trear my mum' says lee 'and im always treating her. Acutally I really am so stupid with money, I just cant manage to hang onto it!'

Lee Ryan grew up in South London with his mum and older sister. He was extremly livly as a child and always getting himself in trouble, and admits to being very rebellious at school. He was popular with his fellow students but not always with the teachers! English was his favourite subject! Lee attended stage school as a teenager. He had a real passion for acting, and once played the Artful Dodger in a production of 'Oliver' at London's Bloomsbury Theatre. Not suprisingly he also loved singing and started writing poems and songs in his early teens. Lee first decided he wanted to be a singer when he was eight years old and did plenty of jobs while chasing his dreams of fame, including working in a hair salon, on a building site and in cafes. He says the thing he loves most about Blue is the fact that every member is genuinely talented and they can all sing brilliantly.
